May 10, 2026, 76, Goldsboro – Larry Lamberth Hale, 76, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in New Hanover County on October 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Ramsey Ellis Hale and Ruby Minton Hale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Myron Hale.
Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Hale; daughter, Emily Hale Pettit and husband, Todd; lifelong friends, Judy McDougald and Mike Tracey; and his beloved canine companion, Janie.
Larry was an avid bass fisherman. He was always looking forward to his next fishing trip, casting a line and waiting for the next tug from a bass. Music was another one of Larry’s passions. He enjoyed all genres of music and could often be found listening to his favorite songs and artists. In years past, he enjoyed reading and often would have a book in hand in his still moments.
Larry will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and the laughter he brought to everyone around him. His loyalty towards his friends was unmatched. If you were Larry’s friend, you had a devoted friend for life.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held in the coming weeks for the family and close friends.
