May 7, 2026, 79, Goldsboro – Virginia Kay Jernigan, 79, peacefully passed away on May 7, 2026. Born on August 21, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Jernigan and Eloise Goff.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Bass.
Virginia is survived by her son, Keith Brock; and nieces, Lynn Bass and husband, Dale, and Tracey Howell and husband, Ricey. Virginia is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews that she loved.
Virginia spent many years working as a travel agent, helping others create lasting memories while fulfilling her own love for exploring the world. Travel was more than a profession to Virginia — it was her passion. Whether planning vacations for others or setting off on adventures with those she loved most, she treasured every opportunity to experience new places and create cherished memories with her family. From quiet weekend getaways to unforgettable family trips, Virginia believed life was best lived together.
A memorial service for Virginia will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Virginia.
