May 3, 2026, 8 mos, Goldsboro – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved baby boy, who brought immeasurable light and love into the world during his eight beautiful months.
Born on August 22nd, 2025, Everett Grey Ellis was the beloved child of Alexander and Emily Ellis. From the second he was born he loved to keep everyone on their toes while showing true strength and courage throughout his journey. His little personality could light up any room and his strength inspired all those around him.
Though his time here was far too short, his life was filled with warmth, joy, and connection. He adored his mommy and daddy above all else, finding comfort, happiness, and safety in their love. His bright spirit reached everyone he met—no one was a stranger to him, only a new friend waiting to be charmed by his sweet presence.
He had a big, albeit feisty, personality for a small little boy that brought laughter to those around him. His side eyes and wiggle dances were just a few small gestures that became part of the unforgettable person he was. Everett connected with every person he met. Whether he was waving bye bye and blowing kisses to his nurses and strangers or rolling his eyes when he was feeling sassy, he always knew how to brighten the days of the people around him.
Although he loved every person who crossed his path, he was particularly fond of his mommy and daddy. Everett was always affectionately called a “Mama’s Boy” and would light up the second he heard her voice. He would spend his days playing with mommy and smiling at every little thing she did, whether it be making silly faces or kissing on his sweet little feet. He loved his time with daddy as well, enjoying every bit of their play times with his favorite fishy toys to their sweet cuddle sessions. The joy he brought to his parents will forever be unmatched.
He found immense joy in the little things that made him happiest: the colorful world of Sesame Street, the playful sounds of his music toys, the sweet music of Ms. Rachel, cuddling with his mommy or daddy in his rocker, his simple story times with all his favorite books, and all his favorite stuffies who never left his side through his journey. In his short life, he taught those around him so much about love—pure, uncomplicated, and freely given. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, in every song, every laugh, and every quiet moment where his absence is deeply felt.
Everett is survived by his adoring parents, Alexander and Emily Ellis; his paternal grandparents, Shasta Johnson (Winfred) and Toby O’Neal; his maternal grandparents, Lisa and Oscar Howard; his aunts and uncles, Spencer Lawrence, Laura and Travis Edwards, and Victoria Smith; and his sweet cousins who he oh so adored
