April 16, 2026, 75, Fremont – Brenda Smith Baker, 75, of Fremont passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Goldsboro.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will greet friends following the service.
Mrs. Baker was born in Wilson County on December 31, 1950 to the late Eli Smith Jr. and Jean Spruill Smith. She worshipped at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church while her health permitted and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her brother, Linwood Smith and wife, Donna of Selma and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bud” Baker.
The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
