MOUNT OLIVE, NC — The Mount Olive Trojans women’s lacrosse showed grit on both ends of the field but dropped a 10-4 non-conference decision to Anderson Trojans.
Mount Olive scored in every quarter, with Jazna Dumont, Jordan Bolam, Katie Broom, and Hailey Morgan each finding the back of the net. Dumont opened the scoring in the first quarter off an assist from Morghan Pollock to give the Trojans early momentum.
Bolam and Broom capitalized on free-position opportunities, while Morgan added a free-position goal and a man-up score in the fourth quarter to round out the Trojans’ offense.
The Trojans finished with 21 total shots and collected 19 ground balls. Mount Olive excelled in transition, successfully clearing 24 of 25 attempts. Defensively, the Trojans forced 23 turnovers and tallied 14 caused turnovers.
Simone McCraw led the defensive effort with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Giavahna Gasdia contributed three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
In goal, Molly Pulliam recorded five saves in 31:47 of action, while Ruby Burandt added two saves over the final 28 minutes.
