February 2, 2026, 92, Goldsboro – Polly Hilbun Adams, 92, peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the comfort of her home.
Polly was born on May 18, 1933, in Wayne County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Rodney Hilbun and Odesma Van Hoy Hilbun.
In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Jim” Adams, and her sons, Keith Adams and Rodney Adams.
She is survived by her son, Denis Adams and his wife, Robin; grandchildren Christy Robbins and family, Dale Adams and family, Jesse Adams and wife Kandi and family, Amanda Adams and family, Lee Adams and wife Rachel and family, and Heather Adams and family. She is also survived by multiple great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her cherished spiritual companion, Debbie.
Polly was a devoted Christian who spent much of her life serving and worshiping in church. Her faith was evident in everything she did, and she was often found greeting others with a warm hug and a welcoming smile.
Following her career as a nurse at Cherry Hospital, Polly continued to pursue her interests through various classes at Wayne Community College, including painting. She also participated in the Senior Olympics, where she proudly earned a trophy.
Polly’s legacy of love, kindness, and patience lives on through the family and friends she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice in her memory.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A graveside service honoring Polly’s life will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with Pastor Jason Stoeber officiating.
