January 31, 2026, 78, Goldsboro – Charles Russell Corbitt, 78, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at UNC Wayne Health Care in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County on January 10, 1948, Charles was the son of the late Russell and Agnes Corbitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ken Corbitt.
Charles was raised on the family farm, a place that shaped his strong work ethic and lifelong dedication to family. Throughout his life, he continued to assist his family on the farm, always willing to lend a helping hand. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service with DuPont in Kinston.
A devoted family man, Charles cherished time spent with his loved ones and took great pride in caring for them. He will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Pikeville Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times at the Corbitt Farm on Nahunta Road.
Charles is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kimberly Pennington Corbitt; daughter, Cheyenne Mariah Corbitt of Pikeville; sons, Charles Russell “Russ” Corbitt Jr. and wife April of Snow Hill, and Paul Grant Corbitt and wife Amanda of Ghana, Africa; and grandchildren, Colin Corbitt, Chandler Corbitt, Grant Corbitt, and Julian Corbitt.
