GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The annual Wayne County Hot Stove Banquet has been rescheduled due to the threat of winter weather expected to impact the area.
Event organizers announced the banquet will now be held on Monday, February 9, at Lane Tree Golf Club. The evening will begin with a social at 6:15 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m.
The Hot Stove Banquet is a long-standing Wayne County tradition that brings together baseball fans, players, coaches, and community supporters to celebrate the game’s impact across the region. The event also serves as a fundraiser for youth baseball programs throughout the county.
This year’s banquet will feature special guest speakers David Lawrence, General Manager of the Wilson Warbirds, and Chris Edwards, the team’s play-by-play announcer. The Wilson Warbirds—formerly known as the Carolina Mudcats—continue to build excitement for professional baseball in eastern North Carolina.
Organizers encourage attendees to update their calendars and look forward to an evening of baseball stories, season previews, and community celebration once weather conditions improve.
