GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Due to the threat of icy weather, the annual Wayne County Hot Stove Banquet has been rescheduled and will now take place on Monday, February 2, at Lane Tree Golf Club.
The evening will begin with a social at 6:15 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. Baseball fans from across Wayne County are invited to attend the long-standing community tradition celebrating the game of baseball and its impact throughout the region.
The banquet will feature special guest speakers David Lawrence, General Manager of the Wilson Warbirds, and Chris Edwards, the team’s play-by-play announcer. The Wilson Warbirds, formerly known as the Carolina Mudcats, continue to generate excitement for professional baseball in eastern North Carolina.
The Wayne County Hot Stove Banquet brings together players, coaches, fans, and community supporters each year to recognize local baseball achievements, preview the upcoming season, and raise funds in support of youth baseball programs across the county.
