January 13, 2026, 85, Goldsboro – Donnie Ray Colmore, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, he was son to the late Harry Colmore and Hattie Henderson.
Donnie’s heart belonged to his family, and nothing brought him greater happiness than time spent with them. He took immense joy in watching his two grandson’s play baseball, proudly cheering from the sidelines.
Donnie cherished the outdoors, where fishing and golfing were more than hobbies—they were moments of peace, reflection, and joy that stayed with him throughout his life.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Edith Johnson; his son, Tim Colmore and wife, Kathryn; his grandchildren, Cameron Colmore, Tyler Colmore, Alicia Thigpen, Amanda Morris and Laura Thigpen; and his great-grandchildren, Ari March, Jameson March, Gracyn Morris and Luna Barratt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Thigpen.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to honor Donnie’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Rick Overman officiating. Interment will conclude at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
