GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Baseball fans from across Wayne County are invited to gather for one of the area’s most cherished traditions as the annual Wayne County Hot Stove Banquet returns on Monday, Jan. 26, at Lane Tree Golf Club.
The banquet will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature special guest speakers David Lawrence, General Manager of the Wilson Warbirds, and Chris Edwards, the team’s play-by-play announcer. The Wilson Warbirds, formerly known as the Carolina Mudcats, continue to build excitement for professional baseball in eastern North Carolina.
The Wayne County Hot Stove Banquet is a long-standing celebration of the game of baseball, bringing together players, coaches, fans, and community supporters. The event typically honors local players and coaches, offers insight into the upcoming baseball season, and raises funds to support youth baseball programs throughout the county.
Tickets are $20 and include dinner. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Roger May at 919-738-5319 or Shane Aube at 252-349-6774.
