January 10, 2026, 100, Rocky Mount – Well into her 100th year of living, Mrs. Christine Alphin Hill passed away Saturday evening, January 10, 2026, in Rocky Mount at the home her daughter lovingly shared with her.
Mrs. Hill had been employed for 20 years at Frosty Morn Meats in the packing department. She was a member of Grace Baptist Temple in Rocky Mount.
Mrs. Hill, born in the Blizzard’s Crossroads community in Duplin County, had lived in various places to include the Deep Run/Pink Hill area, not once, but twice, Kinston on Jefferson Drive, Falling Creek area of La Grange, Fayetteville, Mount Olive, and Rocky Mount.
In death, she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Wilbert Haywood Hill; a son, Haywood Hill, whom she lost in infancy; a son-in-law, Horace Mizelle; her parents, Jefferson Davis Alphin and Delia Herring Alphin; brothers, Thurman Herring, Needham Herring, J. D. Alphin, Jr., and Kenneth Alphin; and sisters, Gladys A. Taylor, and Joyce Alphin.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Faye H. Mizelle, of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren, Scott MIzelle of Rocky Mount, and Christie Hutchins and husband, Tim, of Clemmons; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Mizelle, Kylie Hair and husband, Dylan, of Utah, Amber Brantley of Rocky Mount, Brittany Smith of Charlotte, Tyler Scott Mizelle of Greenville; great-great-grandchildren, Avianna, Eden, and River hair, and Dany Murphy; along with several nieces and nephews, and their families. She also leaves behind a brother, Keith Alphin, of Richlands; and two sisters, Ramona Tedder of Wilson, and Janice Weeks of Kinston.
The family of Mrs. Christine Hill will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Wednesday, January 14, from 10:30 until 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Pinelawn Cemetery in Kinston. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim Smith.
