January 8, 2026, 75, Goldsboro – Perry Devon Miller, 75, was born to the late James Miller and Mattie Armwood-Hale on January 8, 1951 in Wayne County, NC. He transitioned to be with his heavenly father on his birthday Thursday, January 8, 2026 surrounded by his family at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
Perry graduated from Carver High School in Mt. Olive, NC in 1969. He also served 4 years in the U.S. Airforce, obtained his CDL’s and operated his own lawn care service for many years.
Before Perry’s health began to decline, he enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, cooking, spending time with family, traveling and being outdoors. His favorite basketball team was the Lakers. Perry will always be remembered for his sense of humor and generous spirit.
Perry leaves to cherish his precious memories of 42 years of marriage and 59 years of friendship, Theresa Peele Miller; four children, Patrick Miller of Rocky Mt., NC., Tremayne Miller (Nikia) of Orange Park, Fl., Latoya Claude(Tori) of Landis, NC and Nashanda Brown (Brian) of Lexington, NC.; one brother, Clifton Miller (Pamela) of Goldsboro, NC; one niece, Latonya Miller of Greensboro, NC.; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of other cousins, family, and friends.
In lieu of flower arrangements, the family respectfully request that donations or potted flowers be donated.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2025 at noon in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
