January 11, 2026, 67, Goldsboro – Henry Thomas Bedford, 67, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Wayne County on January 31, 1958, Henry was the son of the late Johnnie Thomas Bedford and Barbara “Bobbie” Tucker Bedford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Bedford.
Henry spent many years as a truck driver, a career well-suited to his love for traveling the open road. Earlier in life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, finding peace in the outdoors. In more recent years, he could often be found at Big Boy’s Truck Stop in Kenly, where he enjoyed visiting with friends and fellow truck drivers. Henry never met a stranger and valued the friendships he made along the way.
Above all, family was always important to Henry. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, and those moments together brought him great joy.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Pikeville Cemetery, with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Henry is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Elaine Bedford; his children, Amanda Bedford and Tommy Bedford and wife, Brittany; his grandchildren, Tyler Bedford, Levi Bedford, and Kinslee McLamb; his sister, Pam Bedford; and his brother, Kenneth Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Henry’s memory to The Bridge, Princeton, North Carolina.
