January 1, 2026, 76, Goldsboro – Mary Ann Ward, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Born on July 5, 1949, in Wayne County, North Carolina, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Marvin Samuel Worley and Eva Anderson Worley.
Mary Ann lived life with a joyful spirit and a love for the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and soaking up the warmth of the sun on any beach she could find. A talented and creative soul, she especially loved sewing, finding comfort and satisfaction in creating with her hands. Mary Ann cherished time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for her kind heart and gentle nature.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Steve Ward; her brother, Marvin Ray Worley; and her brother-in-law, Bobby Braswell.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Ward (Kevin); her grandson, Matthew Ward; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Halona Ward. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Worley Braswell and Donna Worley White (Eddy); nieces, Michelle Braswell Beach (Dan), Angie Worley Vernon (Jeff), and Savannah White; nephew, Brandon Braswell (Sandra); great-nieces, Summer Beach, Emily Braswell, and Anna Braswell; great-nephew, Hunter Beach; and a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
Mary Ann’s legacy lives on through the love she gave, the memories she created, and the family who meant so much to her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The family will gather and receive friends Monday, January 5, 2026 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Seymour Funeral Home, Goldsboro.
