January 4, 2026, 82, Goldsboro – Jeanette “Jean” Bass Aycock, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Sunday morning at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Born in Wilson County on March 27, 1943, Jean was the daughter of the late Offie Bass and Helen Juanita Mason Bass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carolyn Jean Aycock; sister, Betty Evans, and brother, Ronnie Bass.
Jean lived a life defined by faith, love, and selfless devotion to her family. As a devoted wife and mother, she poured her heart into caring for those she loved, always placing the needs of her family before her own. Her nurturing spirit and gentle strength made her a steady presence and a source of comfort to all who knew her. Jean found her greatest joy in caring for her home and family, serving as a loving caregiver with patience, grace, and unwavering dedication.
A woman of strong Christian faith, Jean was a faithful and dedicated member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church. She cherished worshiping alongside her family and church family, finding peace and encouragement through fellowship, prayer, and the Word of God. Her quiet faith and kind example were a testimony to her love for the Lord.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Victory Free Will Baptist Church. A service to celebrate Jean’s life will follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary, with Pastor Michael McAuley, officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Jean is survived by her husband of many years, William ‘Bill’ C. Aycock; and her brother, Ray Bass. She will be lovingly remembered for her tender heart, steadfast faith, and the deep love she shared with her family.
