New Indoor Playground in Goldsboro Prioritizes Safe, Sensory Play for All Kids

Goldsboro, N.C. — The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of KIDNETIX NC, a new indoor playground in Goldsboro that promises a safe, clean, and inclusive environment for children to play, explore, and grow.

Founded by local residents Eric and Sarah Trinidad, KIDNETIX NC was born from a deeply personal mission. Their daughter experienced physical delays during early childhood, prompting the couple to seek specialized indoor play areas in cities like Cary and Raleigh. Realizing how limited these options were in their own community, they set out to build one themselves.

“We knew Goldsboro needed something like this,” said Eric Trinidad. “When we saw how beneficial indoor sensory spaces were for our daughter, we wanted to create something that could offer the same kind of safe, nurturing experience for other families right here in Wayne County.”

Sarah, a science teacher, understood the developmental importance of sensory-based motor activities. Her educational background and personal journey as a mother were key in shaping the playground’s focus on accessibility and early childhood development. Together, the Trinidads began planning in February 2024 and, after months of hard work and dedication, their vision has finally come to life.

KIDNETIX NC features interactive play areas tailored to children of various ages and developmental stages. From sensory activities like kinetic sand to structured programs for younger children, the space is designed to support physical growth and social interaction in a fun, safe setting.

In addition to its everyday offerings, the indoor playground will host seasonal and holiday-themed events, character meet-and-greets, and designated sensory play days, making it a hub for year-round family fun.

“We want to be more than just a playground,” Eric explained. “We want to be a community space where families feel welcomed, supported, and can spend quality time together.”

With amenities such as snacks, refreshments, and comfortable seating areas, the facility also ensures parents and caregivers can relax while their children engage in active play. The space is especially accommodating for families with multiple children.

For Goldsboro native Sarah, who comes from a military family, the mission is clear: provide young parents in Wayne County with the kind of resources and support she once searched for herself.

KIDNETIX NC is now open and welcoming families from across the region. For updates on programming, special events, and hours of operation, visit their website or follow them on social media.
