Goldsboro, N.C. — A rear-end collision occurred Wednesday morning on North Spence Avenue, involving a 2016 Chevrolet and a 2017 Honda. Both vehicles were traveling northbound when the incident took place.
According to local authorities, the driver of the 2017 Honda, referred to as Vehicle Two, had come to a stop to allow another vehicle to enter the roadway. While the Honda remained stationary, the driver of the 2016 Chevrolet, identified as Vehicle One, failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the Honda.
The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, though no injuries were reported at the scene. A witness to the accident confirmed that the Chevrolet had not slowed down or stopped in time to avoid the collision. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the collision and assessed the scene. Both vehicles were removed from the roadway, and traffic on North Spence Avenue was briefly impacted as crews worked to clear the area.
The Goldsboro Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, though no charges or citations have been issued at this time. Authorities have urged drivers to remain cautious and aware of their surroundings, especially when approaching stopped or slowing vehicles.
This accident marks the latest in a series of recent rear-end collisions in the area. Law enforcement officials are reminding drivers to always maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of them and to remain vigilant when driving on busy roads.
