The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation says it is assisting with the investigation into the dead body found on the 300 block of Goldsboro, Monday morning.  The SBI says it is providing all available and needed resources to assist the Goldsboro Police Department with the homicide investigation.  The SBI role includes crime scene and investigative assistance.

As of Friday evening, the Goldsboro Police Department says it continues to receive investigative leads in this death investigation. The investigation has produced a tentative identification of the body discovered on Bright Street. However, before this information is released, a positive identification is needed from the State Medical Examiner’s Office and the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory.

The Goldsboro Police Department thanks the public for quickly identifying and locating the vehicle in connection with this investigation. This investigation is continuing.
