A worker is killed in a construction accident in La Grange. The incident occurred around 8:30 AM Monday morning when the employee for JNS Construction fell from a scaffold while working on S. Caswell Street. According to preliminary information from the N.C. Department of Labor, The worker was on a four foot high scaffold and was handed a bundle of shingles to pass to a coworker. The employee then fell from the scaffold when it broke or collapsed. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident was reported to the NCDOL Occupational Safety and Health Division where it has been classified as a “fall from elevation” and will be investigated.
