Jean Sawyer Herring, resident of the Indian Springs community near Mount Olive, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 17, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Herring, 81, was a retired bookkeeper having been associated with Eastern Aluminum Supply Co. in Goldsboro.

Preceded in death by a son, John Charles “Chuck” Herring, along with her parents, Charles S. and Vae Outlaw Sawyer, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Morris E. Herring. of the home; a son, Eddie Herring; a grandson, Brandon Herring; a sister, Peggy S. VanWinkle and husband, Jim, of Indiana.

Mrs. Herring’s remains will be interred in the Herring Family Cemetery in a private setting.
