Avis Marie Rye Davis, age 79, passed away Wednesday at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Howard Vincent and Bertha Wonnacott Rye. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Union, and the Gideons.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Freddie Brewer Davis; son, Richard Davis (Gail); daughter, Penny Westover (Don); sisters, Bonnie Leach and Beverly Waybrant; grandchildren, Christopher Carter (Kelly) and Jimmy Ray Carter (Laura); great grandchildren, Lilly, Junior, Nathan, Shaun and Emmitt.
