Narcotics Suspects Lead Police On Chase Through Goldsboro

Around 10 PM on Wednesday, the Goldsboro Police Department Special Enforcement Unit and Gang Suppression Unit were conducting a narcotics enforcement operation in the area of Corporate Drive.  Officers reportedly spotted a narcotics violation involving a Jeep Cherokee and attempted a traffic stop.  The suspect vehicle stopped briefly but then sped away from the officers.  The pursuit ended when the vehicle rolled after striking the railroad tracks near Greenleaf Street and W. Grantham Street.  The driver, 31-year-old Derric L. Dove, Jr. of Princeton, and passenger, 33-year-old Joshua E.D. Davis of Mount Olive, were taken into custody without further incident. Narcotics, including heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and a handgun were allegedly seized from the vehicle.
