City Council Plans To Hear From Three District 1 Candidates

Three candidates are vying to fill a vacancy on the Goldsboro City Council.

At Tuesday’s council meeting, City Manager Tim Salmon announced the three residents that were hoping to be the new District 1 representative.

Hiawatha Jones, Washea Lancaster and Yvonnia Moore all submitted their names for consideration for the open council seat.

Jones, Lancaster and Moore will be invited to the February 1st city council meeting to present their qualifications and visions for the City of Goldsboro.

The council may appoint the new council member at its February 15th meeting.

The District 1 vacancy was created when Antonio Williams stepped down from the Goldsboro City Council after he was elected to the Wayne County Board of Commissioners.
