January 18, 2021, 66, Fremont –

Jimmy Stallings, 66, of Fremont gained his angel wings Monday morning, January 18, 2021 at UNC Rex Health Care in Raleigh.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Eureka Cemetery with the Dr. Don Sauls and Reverend Ira Williford officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Jimmy was born in Wayne County on July 14, 1954. He was a charter member of United In Christ Church in Goldsboro where he sang in the choir, served as deacon, usher and always helped out as needed with his church. He retired from Bridgestone/Firestone after 39 years of service. Jimmy loved to grill and everyone loved his famous BBQ sauce. He was also a faithful volunteer with Faro Fire Department. Most of all, his three granddaughters were the apple of his eye.

He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Hinson of Fremont; his loving wife, Kay Stallings; his two daughters, Amy Stallings Lancaster of Pikeville and Michelle Stallings Jarman and husband, BJ of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Lynley Lancaster, Colleen Lancaster and Elaine Jarman; one step-brother, Gary Hinson and wife, Alice of Faro; and one step-sister, Agatha Williams of Wilmington and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Theron Stallings; his step-father who was like a father, James Hinson; his sister, Lori Lancaster and a step-brother, Louis Harold Hinson.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
