Wayne County Public Schools won’t select a new superintendent for at least two more months.

Board of Education Chair Chris West gave a brief update on the timeline for the district’s superintendent search at this week’s special meeting.

West says the district is still accepting applications for the superintendent position through March 15th.

The applications are being submitted through the North Carolina School Board Association, the organization assisting WCPS with its superintendent search.

While there is still plenty of time before the Wayne County Board of Education makes a decision on a new superintendent, the school board is being asked to look at the timeline dates being suggested by the NCSBA.
