Pearl Mable Edgerton Stokes, 94, of Princeton passed away at SECU Hospice House, Smithfield, on Thursday January 7, 2021. She was born September 27, 1926 to the late Fred Edgerton and Ila Sullivan Edgerton. She was the widow of the late William Earl Stokes.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Thomas, Fred Jr., and Tony Edgerton; her sisters: Ruth Hines, Hazel Barnes, Elizabeth Mayo, Dixie Short, Marie Woodard and Margaret Crocker.

Mrs. Stokes was a member of Church of Faith in Selma, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, 4633 US HWY 70 E., with the Reverend Tommy Pearce officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and respectfully remind those attending the service to practice social distancing guidelines.

Mrs. Stokes is survived by her daughter, Linda Worley of Princeton; grandsons: Brian Worley (Stephanie) and Jason Worley (Lisa); and Great grandsons: Clayton and Austin Worley.
