Judy Wood Johnston, 73, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

Judy was born in Maryland on January 12, 1947 to the late James and Katie Wood. She had worked as a teacher’s assistant with Wayne County Public Schools. Judy enjoyed the opportunities given to her by helping to impact the lives of her students at North Drive Elementary School.

At her request, no formal service will be held.

Judy is survived by her husband, Robert Louis Johnston, III; son, Garrett Johnston and wife Joanna of Pikeville; daughter, Elana Johnston of St. Augustine, FL; sisters, Eileen Hall, Princess Barker, and Louise Coombs, all of Maryland; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Johnston, Danielle Johnston, and William Johnston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jefferson Garner Johnston.
