Elder Velma McKinley, 92, of 111 Daly Ave., Dudley died Saturday at her residence.

She was born March 6, 1928 in Wayne County to James L. and Hattie Hobbs Henderson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM at Goldsboro Raleigh District Assembly Headquarters. Burial will follow in the Wayne Memorial Park.

She served as President of the House of Prayer, Faison NC and as Assistant Pastor of St. Luke Church of Christ, Mt. Olive.

Elder McKinley leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters: Jean (Larry) Ward, Brenda (Donald) Wells, and Velma “Joyce” (William) Forte; Eleven grandchildren; Lisa (Bradley) Flowers, Angela (Keith) Molette, Tonya (Hillis) Haygood, Wilma Blackmore, Tyrone (Avonya) Cogdell, Brenadeen (Emmanuel) Barnett, Wesley Forte, Larry Ward Jr, Renard (Renee) Ward, Camilla Wells, Eric Wells Jr, and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews numerous cousins and devoted friends.

There will be a public viewing on Wednesday from 2 PM until 5 PM at the Haskins Funeral Home. The family will assemble at residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
