KPD: Same Suspect Responsible For Two Armed Robberies

Kinston Police are investigating two Monday night armed robberies.

Officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to armed robbery at the Family Dollar on the 700 block of Plaza Boulevard around 7 PM on Monday.  An unknown subject had reportedly entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’ 2”, wearing a black coat, black mask, grey pants and black shoes.  The suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.  No one was injured during the robbery.

Also on Monday evening around 7:15 PM, KPD officers were again dispatched to the report of a second armed robbery, this time at the Dollar General on the 2000 block of W. Vernon Avenue.  It’s believed the same suspect once again made off with an undetermined amount of money.  A passerby observed the suspect flee in a large dark-colored passenger car, possibly a Ford Crown Victoria.

Anyone who has information on these crimes is asked to call the Kinston Police Department’s Tips Line at 252-939-4020 or Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at 252-523-4444.
