Linda Jo Waller Kearney

November 23, 2020, 62, Snow Hill

Linda Jo Waller Kearney, 62, received ultimate healing and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, November 23, 2020. Linda was born in La Grange on November 8, 1958 to the late Hugh and Helen Ham Waller. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Valerie Waller, and half siblings, John Stafford, Nancy Quinn, and Wayne Stafford.

Linda’s heart had a soft spot for all of God’s creatures. She never came upon a stray dog or cat that she refused to take in. Once she set her eyes on them, their lives were forever changed.

Linda was instrumental in raising everybody’s children. As their ultimate advocate, she ensured that nobody messed on them. Even in cases where the children were 100% in the wrong, you’d best not discipline them in front of her.

The love and support that Linda had for her husband, Allen, was never-ending. Knowing his love of music, she purchased him his first guitar when all he knew how to do was to look at it. Through the years, she has supported his talent and beamed with pride when she heard him play and sing.

There was a gentle spirit in Linda that never seemed to get angered. If she was upset about something, she would quickly let you know so that a resolution could occur. Once she had talked it over with you, it was the end of it for her, and she’d never bring it up again.

Linda’s quiet and private nature exhibited the love of Christ to everyone she met. She spent many hours studying and nurturing her faith through the many religious shows she’d watch on television.

Known to be an excellent cook, nobody’s caramel cake could compare to Linda’s. Although members of her family have often attempted to make it, none could match hers.

A service to celebrate and remember Linda’s life will be held in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home on Friday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Eureka Cemetery.

Linda is survived by the love of her life and husband of nearly 32 years, Allen Kearney; daughter, Christy Ramirez and husband, Jose; grandchildren, Alaina Ramirez and Marissa Ramirez; siblings, Sue Sullivan and husband, Edsel, and Diane Rome and husband, George; many special nieces and nephews; and five cats including her very special cat, Silver.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
