Deborah Kaye Malpass, 69, Mount Olive resident and Faison native, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 9, 2020.

Graveside rites will be Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The Rev. Andy Beard will preside. Ms. Malpass will lie in state at Tyndall Funeral Home Wednesday before the service. Memorial gifts may be made to Faison Baptist Church, PO Box 280, Faison NC 28341.

Ms. Malpass was a 1969 graduate of North Duplin High School. Her working years involved several careers, but perhaps, her most notable was that of manager of the deli-bakery at Mount Olive Piggly Wiggly. She was a member of Faison Baptist Church.

Surviving family includes her son, Kenneth Allen Tucker and his wife, Jan, of Pikeville; two grandsons, Chase and Cullen Tucker of Pikeville; a sister and brother-in-law, Connie M. and Gerald Kornegay of Mount Olive; sisters-in-law, Joy J. Malpass of Mount Olive, and Melinda A. Malpass of Faison; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Wayne Tucker; her parents, K. D. and Wilma Bell Malpass; brothers, Kenneth Donald Malpass, Gerald Malpass, and Dennis Malpass; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Faye M. and Bill Jones, Mary Meade M. Langston, and Jackie M. Ve
