Rain To Continue Thursday, Flash Flood Warning Issued

A Flood Warning and Flash Flood Warning are now in effect for Wayne County.

That’s on top of the Flash Flood Watch that has been issued for Wayne County until 7 PM this evening.

A cold front is mixing with moisture from Tropical Storm Eta in the Gulf of Mexico, and that’s leading to another day of rain and possible storms across North Carolina.

Widespread showers and isolated storms will bring the potential for up to five inches of rain to some parts of the state.

The heavy rainfall will result in rapidly rising streams and creeks and may result in flash flooding.

Remember: Turn around and don’t drown if encountering a water-covered roadway.
