Wednesday afternoon, Mar-Mac firefighters along with a Wayne County EMS paramedic crew were sent to the scene of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Genoa Crossing and Highway 117. The collision was between a Jeep SUV and a passenger car. The Jeep was struck in the back passenger side quarter panel as it was making a left hand turn off 117 onto Genoa Crossing.  All the patients that were involved in the crash were checked out by EMS personnel on the scene. No one was seriously injured and everyone refused to be taken to the hospital. Due to the overturned vehicle blocking the intersection, firefighters had to shut down one of the southbound lanes. The accident is being investigated by the State Highway Patrol. Fire and law enforcement remained on the scene for about an hour.
