Board Finds Substantial Evidence To Doubt Foster’s Residency

An election protest filed against a candidate for the Wayne County Board of Commissioners lives on and is heading back to the state.

Bevan Foster won the March 3rd Democratic Primary for the District 3 seat on the Wayne County Board.

However, an election protest alleged Foster does not reside at his registered District 3 address of 610 Deveraux Street in Goldsboro.

Tuesday, the Wayne County Board of Elections held a hearing on Foster’s residency after being ordered to do so by the State Board of Elections.

In the end Tuesday, the Wayne County Board of Elections voted 3 – 2 and found there was substantial evidence to believe Foster does not reside within District 3 at the Deveraux Street address.

The election protest now goes back to the State Board of Elections for action.

The Wayne County Board of Elections agreed to Option 4 on a 3 – 2 vote Tuesday.
