BE PREPARED: 2020 Hurricane Season Officially Begins

The 2020 Hurricane Season is underway.  Monday, June 1, marks the official start to the hurricane season, although two named storms have already affected parts of North Carolina in recent weeks.  As residents in Eastern Carolina are well aware, tropical cyclones are strong storms that bring threatening hazards including flooding, high winds and tornadoes.  Preparation is the best protection against the dangers of a hurricane.  The National Weather Service Office in Raleigh has a Tropical Weather Webpage that includes information on hurricane preparedness and the latest storms.
