Hurricane StormCenter: Wayne County Shelters

Wayne County will be opening the following shelter locations in Wayne County for individuals during Isaias. The following shelters will open Monday, August 3, 2020 at 7 p.m.

  • Meadow Lane Elementary School at 3500 E Ash St, Goldsboro, NC 27534
  • Spring Creek Middle School at 3579 South NC-111, Seven Springs, NC 28578

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shelter capacity will be greatly reduced, and residents should use shelters as a last resort. Health screenings will be given for all individuals entering a shelter and face coverings are highly recommended while inside a shelter. Shelter residents should bring clothing, bedding, personal hygiene items, snacks, games, medication, insurance information, important documents, and specific supplies for: infants, children, and the elderly. If transportation to a shelter is needed, Goldsboro-Wayne Transportation Authority (GWTA) will be operating until 9 p.m. this evening.

Pets are not allowed at these shelters with the exception of designated service animals.
