Guardian Ad Litem Volunteer Training
The GAL program (Greene, Lenoir, & Wayne Co.) is seeking dedicated volunteers who are willing to step into the role of advocates for children in the foster care system. Many children facing challenging circumstances often feel voiceless and alone. By becoming a GAL Volunteer Advocate, you can help ensure that these children’s needs and best interests are represented in court and that they receive the support they truly deserve. As volunteers, you will have the chance to work directly with children and youth, providing them guidance, advocacy, and a consistent adult presence during a tumultuous time in their lives. No prior experience is necessary, just a compassionate heart and willingness to make a difference. Our training is completely virtual, and you will then be sworn into our court by the district court judge with all the skills needed to become an advocate for children. If you are interested, apply on our website.
