Book-Reading Event At Wayne Co. Museum

Book-Reading Event At Wayne Co. Museum

This free youth book-reading event is part of the Museum’s current exhibit “Fighting for Freedom” which explores the history of the 135th USCT, a Goldsboro regiment of Black soldiers in the Civil War. At 1 pm we will have an in-person reading event for children and adults of the book “Where Eagles Come From”, written by local authors Amy & Jay Bauer. Excerpts from the book will be read by author Amy Bauer and 135th direct descendant Cheryl Richardson Harmond. There will be a discussion and question and answer period after the reading. We encourage young readers to read the book ahead of time so they may participate in the discussion. The book is available at the Museum, on the 135th.org website, and on kindle. Please join us for this Fascinating Black Civil War History event. Call 919-734-5023 or email info@waynemuseum.org for more details.
