George Willis “Pops” Ezzell, 67, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
George was born in Wayne County on June 29, 1953 to Alice Faulk Ezzell and the late Daniel Joseph Ezzell. He retired from the City of Goldsboro. Although George had many health challenges, he always remained focused on his family, especially his grandchildren. George always had a great love for good music, either gospel or country.
The family will gather for a time of visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Seymour Funeral Home.
In addition to his mother, George is survived by his son, Christopher Ezzell and wife Kelly of Pikeville; special daughter, Angel Webb and husband Jamie of Snow Hill; sister, Connie Vinson of Rosewood; brother, Shelton Ezzell and wife Phyllis of Rosewood; and grandchildren, Cohen Ezzell, Haylee Ezzell, Kristin Wooten (Jackson), Madison Webb, Baillie Kearney, Emily Webb and Ethan Kearney. He was anticipating the birth of his first great-grandchild, Baby Boy Wooten.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Ezzell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in his memory to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
