Greater Neuse FCA Men’s Basketball Tournament Moves to New Venue

For the first time since its launch in 2013, the Greater Neuse Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Men’s High School Basketball Tournament will not be held at the University of Mount Olive. The long-running holiday classic is temporarily relocating as UMO undergoes major renovations to Kornegay Arena.

The university is installing new stadium seating and making significant upgrades to the arena lobby — improvements expected to elevate the overall fan experience when the venue reopens.

This year’s tournament will still boast a competitive lineup, featuring top teams from Wayne County as well as several strong programs from neighboring areas. Games will tip off Saturday, December 20, and continue Monday, December 22, and Tuesday, December 23 at Charles B. Aycock High School.

The Annual FCA Women’s Tournament is also set to return later in the month. The women’s bracket will be held December 27, 29, and 30 at Lenoir Community College in Kinston.

Wayne Country Day enters the men’s tournament as the three-time defending champion, aiming to secure a fourth straight Classic title.
