Julie Whitfield Files for Re-Election as Wayne County Clerk of Superior Court

Goldsboro, NC – Today, Julie Whitfield announced she has filed to run for re-election as Wayne County Clerk of Superior Court.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of Wayne County,” said Whitfield. “I remain committed to working with our great staff to maintain the highest standards of fairness, integrity, and efficient service in our Clerk’s Office.”

Under Julie’s leadership, the Clerk’s Office — located at 224 E. Walnut Street, in Downtown Goldsboro — has continued to manage the full scope of court record-keeping, probate and estate administration, civil and criminal filings, and public services. Julie and her team also made history, taking the Clerk’s Office paperless, with the launch of North Carolina eCourts which provides online services for court records, portal, file & serve, guide & file, and the ability to make payments and pay tickets.

“Launching eCourts has been a big change for all involved in the judicial system. My staff has done extremely well with this launch as well as our attorneys who have been very encouraging throughout the process. The citizens of Wayne County have also been patient and gracious through this transition” states Julie.

If re-elected, Whitfield pledges to continue to build on recent efforts to enhance accessibility, transparency, and responsiveness — ensuring all residents of Wayne County can depend on timely, professional court services. Registered voters may vote in the Primary Election on March 3rd, 2026. General Election held November 3rd, 2026.
