Pikeville Man Arrested on Meth Distribution Charges

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – A coordinated drug investigation in Wayne County has resulted in the arrest of a Pikeville man accused of distributing methamphetamine in the region.

According to officials, Matthew Durfy, of Nahunta Road in Pikeville, was identified as a source of meth supply in the northwest areas of Wayne County. The investigation, led by the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Task Force with support from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Violence Prevention Response Team (ViPR), led to the recovery of methamphetamine and ultimately to Durfy’s arrest.

Detectives developed probable cause to obtain warrants, and when Durfy was taken into custody, officers say he was found with additional quantities of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.

Durfy faces the following charges:

  • Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance
  • Sell Methamphetamine
  • Possess Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He is currently being held at the Wayne County Detention Facility under a $21,000 bond.
