MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Motorists traveling through Mount Olive should prepare for a temporary road closure beginning Monday, November 9, as crews work to replace a sewer line and install a new manhole.
According to the Town of Mount Olive, SW Center Street will be closed from Main Street to Pollock Street beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, November 9.
The closure is necessary to allow contractors to complete sewer infrastructure improvements, including the replacement of an existing sewer line and the installation of a manhole.
Town officials say the project is expected to take approximately 10 business days, with work anticipated to continue through Friday, November 20, 2026.
The affected section of SW Center Street will be completely impassable throughout the construction period.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow additional travel time when navigating the area.
The Town of Mount Olive advises residents and drivers to remain aware of the closure while crews complete the necessary improvements.
