GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The road to a state championship begins Thursday night as the Rosewood Eagles welcome the Pamlico County Hurricanes to the Eagles’ Nest for the first round of the NCHSAA 2A Football State Playoffs.

This week’s Pittman Agner Law High School Football Game of the Week features the No. 16 seed Rosewood Eagles hosting the No. 17 seed Pamlico County Hurricanes in a postseason showdown.

The game, originally scheduled for Friday, November 6, has been moved to Thursday, November 5, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

With the regular season in the rearview mirror, both teams are looking to keep their championship hopes alive. The Hurricanes will be blowing into the Eagles’ Nest, but Rosewood will have the home-field advantage as the Eagles look to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

The matchup between the No. 16 and No. 17 seeds sets the stage for what could be a competitive first-round battle, with both teams knowing that a loss will bring their season to an end.

Fans who can’t make it to the Eagles’ Nest can catch every play, tackle, and touchdown on 98.3 WGBR or stream the game live at GoldsboroDailyNews.com.
