October 5, 2026, 64 – Michael Anthony Jones, age 64, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at his home. Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He was the son of the late Raymond C. “Buck” Jones and Betty Edwards Jones.
Michael was employed with the family business as a ironworker, Michael, knew the value of hard work. He loved hot rods and motorcycles, but nothing meant more to him than spending time with his family. His greatest pride was found in the people he loved and the life they shared.
Michael was a devoted husband, a loving daddy, a cherished brother, and a loyal friend. He was a strong man with a big heart—the kind of man who showed up when he was needed. Those who knew him best would tell you he was “a hell of a man,” with a toughness all his own and a love for his family that ran deep.
Above all, Michael was the best grandfather anyone could ask for. His granddaughter, Halen Bing, held a special place in his heart, and being her grandfather brought him tremendous joy. The time he spent with his family leaves memories they will carry for the rest of their lives.
Michael is survived by his wife, Angela K. Jones, of the home; his son, Blake Jones, and girlfriend, Stacy Eckel; his daughter, Brook Bing, and husband, Jeff; his brother, Raymond Joseph Jones, and wife, Lynne; his granddaughter, Haylen Bien; and his sister-in-law, Tonya Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Christopher Jones, and his first wife, Ann Jones.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. At other times, the family will gather at the home.
Michael’s strength, loyalty, and love will live on in those who knew him. He will be deeply missed as a husband, daddy, brother, friend, and grandfather whose family always came first.
