september 28, 2026, 43, Pikeville – Holly Crystal Bibb Riggs peacefully passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro, with her loving family by her side.
Holly will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, cherished daughter and sister, and a friend to those whose lives she touched. She had a beautiful way of expressing herself through her creativity. Artistic and exceptionally talented with words, Holly was an amazing writer who had a gift for putting thoughts and feelings onto paper in a way that came straight from the heart.
Holly also had a determined and adventurous spirit. She enjoyed running marathons and proudly earned numerous medals through the years. Each finish line represented her strength, perseverance, and determination—qualities she carried with her throughout her life.
Christmas held an especially dear place in Holly’s heart. She loved the beauty, warmth, and joy of the Christmas season, which was fitting because Christmas was also the inspiration for her name, Holly. She treasured the traditions, memories, and special moments that came with her favorite time of year.
Holly and her husband, Jason, shared a love for the mountains and enjoyed the special times they spent there together. Whether surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the mountains or simply enjoying everyday life, the memories they created together became treasured chapters in their life and marriage.
Above all else, Holly’s heart belonged to her family. Her greatest love and joy was her daughter, Kristen. The two shared an exceptionally close bond and were truly “two peas in a pod.” Their relationship was filled with a love and friendship that words could never fully describe. Holly dearly loved her sons, Austin and Alex, as well, and being their mother was one of the greatest blessings of her life. Her children and grandchildren brought immeasurable happiness to her heart, and the love she had for each of them was unconditional.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 2, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton with Pastor David Varnell officiating.
Holly leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jason Riggs; her daughter, Kristen Elizabeth Riggs of the home; two sons, Austin Riggs and Alex Riggs, both of the home; two grandchildren, Theodore Riggs and Lincoln Riggs; her parents, David Edgar and Denise Bibb of Pikeville; two brothers, John David Bibb of Texas and Joseph Edgar Bibb of Pikeville; her mother-in-law, Susie Riggs of Kinston; and her beloved pet companion, “Lum Lum,” who held a special place in her heart.
Though Holly’s earthly journey has ended, there are countless pieces of her that remain—the words she wrote, the art she created, the medals she earned, the Christmases she loved, the mountains she enjoyed, and most importantly, the family she cherished with all her heart. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love and memories she leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
