WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Week 4 of the high school football season featured several dominant performances, a rivalry matchup and plenty of points as teams from across Wayne County took the field.
Eastern Wayne delivered one of the biggest victories of the week, traveling to South Lenoir and shutting out the Blue Devils 57-0. The Warriors controlled the matchup from start to finish in the road victory.
C.B. Aycock also turned in a commanding road performance, defeating Goldsboro 61-0.
The Pittman Agner Law High School Football Game of the Week featured Hobbton traveling to the Eagles Nest to battle Rosewood. After picking up its first victory of the season a week earlier, Rosewood kept the momentum going with a 38-30 victory over the Wildcats. The matchup had been billed as an opportunity for both teams to turn their early seasons around.
Southern Wayne continued its strong start with another shutout, going on the road and defeating Smithfield-Selma 26-0.
Princeton’s offense exploded at home against North Johnston. The Bulldogs rolled to a 61-6 victory, scoring one of the highest point totals among Wayne County teams in Week 4.
Wayne Christian also found the win column, defeating Grace Christian of Raleigh 30-22.
Wayne Preparatory Academy and Halifax Academy battled to a 28-28 tie to round out the week’s local action.

Week 4 featured plenty of offense across Wayne County, with Eastern Wayne, C.B. Aycock and Princeton each topping the 50-point mark, while Rosewood earned its second consecutive victory.
