WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Week three of the high school football season delivered plenty of points across the area, highlighted by a dominant Southern Wayne performance, Rosewood’s first victory of the season and an offensive shootout involving Princeton.
The Pittman Agner Law High School Football Game of the Week featured a Wayne County matchup as the Goldsboro Cougars traveled to Mount Olive to face the Southern Wayne Saints at the Doyle Whitfield Athletic Complex.
Southern Wayne defended its home turf in convincing fashion, defeating Goldsboro 50-6. The Saints controlled the county rivalry matchup and put up 50 points on the Cougars to secure the Week 3 victory.

Rosewood Picks Up First Victory
The Rosewood Eagles broke into the win column for the first time this season with a 34-18 victory over North Johnston.
After opening the season with losses to C.B. Aycock and North Duplin, the Eagles responded in Week 3 to earn their first victory of the 2026 campaign.
Princeton, Seaforth Combine for 126 Points
There was no shortage of offense in Princeton’s Week 3 matchup with Seaforth.
The two teams combined for 126 points, with Seaforth coming away with a 70-56 victory over the Bulldogs.
Princeton’s 56-point performance wasn’t enough to keep pace with a Seaforth offense that reached the 70-point mark.
Eastern Wayne, C.B. Aycock Have Bye Week
While several Wayne County teams were under the Friday night lights, Eastern Wayne and C.B. Aycock had a bye in Week 3.
Both teams will return to action following the week off as the high school football season moves into Week 4.
