RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina voters now have access to an online resource designed to help them learn more about candidates running for the state’s appellate courts in the 2026 General Election.
The North Carolina State Board of Elections has released its online Judicial Voter Guide: 2026 General Election, featuring information about candidates seeking seats on the North Carolina Supreme Court and North Carolina Court of Appeals.
“The State Board of Elections takes pride in this guide as a way to educate North Carolina’s 7.8 million registered voters about candidates for these important judicial seats,” State Board Executive Director Sam Hayes said. “We encourage voters to use this online resource to learn about the candidates before they cast their ballot.”
Every North Carolina voter will have four statewide appellate court contests on their ballot this year. Those races include one seat for Associate Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court and three seats for Judge of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Candidates for other judicial offices are not included in the guide because those races are not elected statewide.
Unlike previous versions, the State Board will not mail voters a complete printed Judicial Voter Guide in 2026. Officials said the fund created to pay for the guide has been depleted.
Instead, the State Board plans to mail a postcard to North Carolina households in the coming weeks containing a QR code linking directly to the online guide.
The 2026 General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Voters can access the Judicial Voter Guide and additional election information through the North Carolina State Board of Elections website.
